I have two girls--a teen and a tween--and I try my hardest to be a good role model for them. I am an author; writing is my only job, and I share my writing journey with my girls so they can see that even adults sometimes struggle to succeed.
Some authors do hit it big with their very first novel, but most of us don't. We keep working and writing and learning, and those who persist can become successful. But it takes a lot of hard work, and I'm thankful to be able to share both my successes and failures with my kids.
But until now, I haven't been able to fully share my journey with my kids, because, well...I'm not letting them read my steamy paranormal romances! lol!
I needed to write something that they could read. Something I could truly share with them, so they could be a part of my entire journey to publication from start to finish.
That's why I wrote Soul Catchers. I got to talk to them about the characters and the plot as I was writing. They got to read early drafts and give me feedback. It was a wonderful experience to share with my children, and I'm also excited to share it with you!
