10 New Orleans Romances to Spice Up Your eReader

St. Louis Cathedral

If you haven't figured it out by now, I absolutely love New Orleans. The culture, the food, the music...everything about it is magical, and it makes the perfect backdrop for a sizzling romantic story. Like Trish in my upcoming release, Love & Ghosts, says, "This city is a living, breathing entity, and it has to be experienced fully before you settle down."

New Orleans really is a character in itself, and I love reading stories set here because the city seems to take on a life of its own. I've wrangled up 10 fantastic romance stories set in the Big Easy, and I hope you'll check them all out. Some are paranormal, some are not, but they all share the magic of New Orleans in their setting. Enjoy!

Moonlight & Whiskey by Tricia Lynne

When life gives you curves, you gotta learn how to rock them.

Successful businesswoman Avery Barrows likes her dips and curves, but she’s sick of the haters telling her that she should be ashamed of her body instead of embracing it. So, what’s a smart woman with a little extra gotta do to get laid in this town?

Not much if you ask Declan McGinn, the lead singer of BlackSmith. Tall, dark, and tattooed, with a body made for sin, Declan prefers his women as curvy as his guitars. Avery’s sharp tongue and keen mind makes him want her even more.

As they burn up the sheets, Avery and Declan realize this is no one-night (or even one-week) stand. But for all of her bluster, Avery isn’t sure she can handle any more rejection. Besides, Declan has demons of his own. Now Avery has a choice to make: play it safe, or place her trust in the hands of a man who’s as tempting as the devil himself.

Wild Lilies by Angel Nyx

Declan Monroe

He wasn't looking for a mate. He'd lived a hard life, there was blood on his hands, no woman would be able to handle the darkness that tainted his soul. When his Alpha hires him to track down his missing daughter he thought finding her in New Orleans would be the hard part. He had no idea she would be the woman who could bring him to his knees.

Savage Collision by Gwyn McNamee

He's everything she didn't know she wanted. She's everything he thought he could never have.

The last thing I expect when I walk into The Hawkeye Club is to fall head over heels in lust. It’s supposed to be a rescue mission. I have to get my baby sister off the pole, into some clothes, and out of the grasp of the pussy peddler who somehow manipulated her into stripping. But the moment I see Savage Hawke and verbally spar with him, my ability to remain rational flies out the window and my libido takes center stage. I’ve never wanted a relationship—my time is better spent focusing on taking down the scum running this city—but what I want and what I need are apparently two different things.

Danika Eriksson storms into my office in her high heels and on her high horse. Her holier-than-thou attitude and accusations should offend me, but instead, I can’t get her out of my head or my heart. Her incomparable drive, take-no-prisoners attitude, and blatant honesty captivate me and hold me prisoner. I should steer clear, but my self-preservation instinct is apparently dead—which is exactly what our relationship will be once she knows everything. It’s only a matter of time.

The truth doesn’t always set you free. Sometimes, it just royally screws you.

Unbreak Me by Michelle Hazen

What could two troubled souls from different walks of life have in common? Maybe everything.

Andra Lawler lives isolated at her family’s horse ranch, imprisoned by the memories of an assault in college. When she needs help training her foals, she hires a Haitian-Creole cowboy from New Orleans with a laugh as big as the Montana sky.

LJ Delisle can’t stand the idea that Andra might be lonely—or eating frozen TV dinners. He bakes his way into her kitchen with a lemon velvet cake, and offers her cooking lessons that set them on the road to romance. But even their love can’t escape the shadow of what they've been through. Despite their growing friendship and his gentle rapport with the horses, LJ is still an outsider facing small-town suspicions.

Before they can work through their issues, LJ is called home by a family emergency. In the centuries-old, raggedly rebuilt streets of New Orleans, he must confront memories of Hurricane Katrina and familiar discrimination. And Andra must decide if she’s brave enough to leave the shelter of the ranch for an uncertain future with LJ.
